Fantastic. The show started with Matmos and their experimental music, whose sounds pheres made me get into trance. Then there was Björk on stage (the audience welcomed her with applause louder than all the music that night), sitting in a spotlight with an unamplified musicbox playing it while shiny snowflakes slowly fell down glittering around her and she appeared like a princess in a fairy tale. And what followed made me almost unable to speak for the rest of the night: Silent songs, Björk singing only supported by a harp, Gotham Lullaby as a prayer for Manhattan with tears in the eyes of the audience, monster versions of songs like Bachelorette and Isobel played with orchestra, choir and Matmos and at last Human Behaviour and Our Hands that made the audience get up and dance. Thanks to everyone involved. /Stefan - 3437
"...this is an alarm call, so wake up, wake up now...." This was an evening I will never forget. I was not sure, if Björk would go on stage because of the apocalyptic events in the United States. But when she came, it was like a healing to the audiences wounded hearts. She asked us to pray for the victims in NYC, and i could not stop crying. This wonderful human being sang with all her soul against terror, she made us believe in love again. It was an unreal atmosphere, and I would like to thank everyone at the concert, that I was allowed to share this experience with them. Never give up. Peace. /Stephan Voß - 3436
Hello! I was also in Stuttgart and it was great! During the concert, I heard about the terrible things in the USA. Bjork sang a prayer for the victims and people in the United States. In the beginning of the concert I saw, that Bjork was a little bit sad. But during the concert, she felt better and was dancing at the end. I think, she was very very sad, but she wanted to forget it for a moment. Matmos are very crazy people and it was really funny, how they made noise and music. I was impressed and surprised. Just crazy. Bjork herself was just as good as '95 (Munich) and '97 (Frankfurt). Hm, perhaps she was just a little bit better this evening.. ;o) She was singing about 2 hours with a short break between. It was really unforgetable. Just Bjork. /egozent - 3435
| Hi there, I've seen Björk live in Stuttgart yesterday-even though I thought the show would have been cancelled. However, Björk performed and it was a wonderful evening on a horrible day. After 3-4 songs, Björk asked the audience if they speak English, and then she just said "I think we're all a little upset because of what's happened west from here on an island called Manhattan" Then they played a song by an American woman called Meredith Bryce [Meredith Monk // lunargirl] or so, about Manhattan. After all, the show was amazing, especially the final songs. My favourite was "In Our Hands", a not yet released new song. | First of all I would like to thank all thI was there at stuttgart last night I couldn't believe the atmosphere, I'm almolst crying as I write. she didn't say much during the concert, at the "Manhattan" song she said "We're all a little bit upset about what happened today at the island I've been calling home and we'd like to play this song as a prayer" (something like that). I almolst fainted when I got home. the concert was very, very good Lid /Lid Splijjplinth - 3433 |
My highest respect for Bjork, the concert-hall was filled with her emotion and sensuality. She performed the song "Gotham lullaby (?)" for the Island Manhatten. A day and a concert I will never forget. Thank you thousand times for your help, Björk. /cotopaxi - 3432
Takk Björk, takk! takk! þú rokkar feitt! Þessir tónleikar voru svo einlægir og svo fallegir... g hrafn /Gunnar Hrafn - 3431
the concert was very, very good Lide performers on this great evening. I don't remember everything in details. I'm shocked about what happened in Manhattan. But the concert w a s really great. We had our seat in the second row so we had an extraordinarily good view onto the stage and were able to see faces and everything else. I never saw a live performance of Björk before and i was really stunned how much emotions and power she transported with her songs. Everyone on the stage seemed to be extremely joyful and happy to make this concert happen. Björk sang one song as a prayer for the victims in the United States especially for those on Manhattan. Again I don't find any words for what we expeerienced in Stuttgart. Hary (Augsburg / Germany) /Harald Spieß - 3430
Bjork in Stuttgart I was at the Stuttgart show tonight and Bjork said we should say a prayer for the people on the island west of here. and then she performed Gotham Lullaby a song she said is about NYC. I'm in the US Army stationed in Germany and we are on a high alert but this is only a precaution to protect ourselves not anything more. sincerely /Randy - 3429
