The music last saturday night was definitely the most beautiful that ever hit my ears.

The surprise of the evening was Matmos. In their solo appearance they made amazing noises by plucking on a bird cage rhythmically and using helium balloons as drums. Also when they were supporting Bjork they had some crazy ideas. In I've seen it all, one guy was giving the other a massage on head and shoulders to create a background noise. And later, they were shuffling a pack of cards. In the first song though, All is full of Love, Matmos were not very precise yet. The electronic sounds had a higher pace than the rest of the band so the song didn't sound very good. Maybe I was sitting too near to the loudspeaker at the back where just the beats were transmitted.

My favourite song of the gig was Venus as a Boy. Every sound was brilliant and every person on stage contributed to it. But also Generous Palmstroke sent lots of shivers down my spine. Just Bjork, and Zeena Parkins on the harp; I didn't know a harp can produce such a juicy bass!

When the concert was over, I could not walk anymore, I was hovering over the ground, still shivering, in perfect harmony with the world. To the lucky people out there, enjoy the concerts still to come!

Bye,

Last night's concert was magical!
Björk was in a brilliant mood.. totally dazzling! Zeena and Tagaq were smiling all the time.. everybody seemed really excited and happy to perform :) Le Métropole is pretty small, i don't think we were more than a thousand in there.. 'ecstatic but respectfully quiet during the songs' audience ;)

:first part:

Björk sits in the dark and starts playing her musicbox, the tune is a variation of frosti, it's raining feathers over her head. ..we enter a dream... then the rest of the troupe comes in, the set they play is calm, soothing, intimate.. very vespertine :)
-aifol (there's a new member in the choir, she's wearing a black dress..?)
-unravel
-harm of will
-generous palmstroke (just björk and zeena.. beautiful!)
-it's not up to you
-an echo a stain
-i've seen it all
-cocoon
-unison

:second part:

complete change of atmosphere.. the blue glacier background (which suited the first half perfectly) is gone and a serie of amazing drawings take place, they're by biologist Ernst Haeckel (the first panel is "copepoda".. how do you say crustacés in english?).. i have his book "Art Forms in Nature", and seing those pictures in huge is incredible!! ;D Björk is wearing that fabulous red dress, she plays with it alot, it sounds at first like she's hiding bells under her skirt but the noise actually comes from her top> the glass petals make a very pretty sound when they crash into each other.

now the second set was peculiar, only 2 songs from vespertine (first andlast)??
-hidden place:: the girl in the black dress is now in front making these astounding animal like sounds with her breath, she's acompanying matmos on beats.. it's Tagaq! Björk is behind her musicbox waiting for her turn to come, she seems pleased with what's going on :) this is grreat!
-venus as a boy
-you've been flirting again (icelandic)
-isobel (Tagaq strikes again!)
-play dead
-joga
-hyperballad
-bachelorette
--- standing ovation ---

-anchor song (part english/part icelandic, just björk and zeena)
-human behaviour:: at this point there's a wave of ppl standing, dancing! there's not much space between the chairs.. but this is ever so satisfying. Björk goes wild! she's still a punk in some ways ;D
--- standing ovation ---

-it's in our hands (introduced as 'not yet released new song'..and 'last song')

bless!

hi hi hello mwc

i was there and it made me very happy. i just wanna say thanx.
here a review in german. perhaps you can use it in some way.

pause.

klatschen, schreien, standing ovation.

dann ein letztes mal björk auf der bühne: do you speak english? (yeah!!!) so id like to introduce the band... herzig. zum schluss: our hands. dann ist endgültig fertig.

ich war an diesem abend so glücklich.
