The performance was OK. It would have been excellent if it was in an auditorium. At least auditoriums have seating so everyone can see the stage. I was halfway into the crowd and I'm 5'3'' so I could not see the performance on the stage AT ALL. I had to look at the big screens on either side of the stage. If I want to see Bjork on TV, I might as well buy one of her DVDs. Also, the venue shortchanged the concert in another way. My partner and I arrived at the concert grounds at 10am and the gates opened at 1pm. We then walked/ran to the front of the stage so we could wait to see Bjork right up close. We waited several hours and then the Arctic Monkeys came on and massive mosh pit came out of no where and englufed us! It was so violent that my partner had to leave the crowd, and me along with him; so it would have been better if it was just Bjork performing and no one else so we would have been able to keep our place at the front. The performance was soured by the venue and the other performances.

AMAZING!!! Bjork on the stage, specially Hyperballad & Pluto (I was so excited and started to cry), I only went to Canada to see that show, I´m from Mexico too (Mexico city), and this is the best performance that I have seen in my 27 years of life.

See you in a couple of months in my country .... Mexico!!!

Toronto – Virgin Festival

Stellar show -- and I continue to be amazed how Bjork sheds her skin anew with each tour – pulling together a wondrous reinvention of her repertoire with a new cast of characters. Now the 4th time I've seen her – this time around, the surprise of Wonderbrass added yet another kind of dimension to the live show – such a contrast from the last tour with the Icelandic String Octet w/ Matmos and full firework display. This time around, the ultra futuristic sonic manipulations of the "reactable" programmer – using a kind of digital ouija board interface was a particularly wild addition.

The TO crowd was rightly swallowed up in the sheer spectacle of it all. I was delighted how the set list pulled from different high points of her career and yet breathed new life into it at every turn. I took my Bjork-skeptic girlfriend to the gig (seeing her for the first time) and it's a case in point that the performance was a revelation that utterly won her over.

My faves: Hunter, Aurora, All is Full, Bachelorette, Cover Me, Army of Me, and especially Pluto!

Olympic Island once again proved to be a quite magical outdoor setting on a perfect late summer evening. And technically, I was amazed at how the Bjork team adapted the festival stage to her requirements to deliver an incredible show – replete with the visual innovation one expects.

Beyond everything else, the voice, the volta – the life force that is Bjork burns as incandescently as ever.

My fifth time seeing Björk in concert, and she still manages to amaze me. Her voice sounded spectacular last night - she got all the high notes and really belted out all of the songs. I was worried about how much energy she'd have after reading some comments on the 4um about her gigs in France - but she was literally bouncing all over the stage and thrashing her head to the music - especially during Pluto - she screamed her head off!

The two highlights of the night for me were Wanderlust and Hyperballad - Wanderlust because Mark Bell fucked up on the beats and threw Björk and the whole brass section off - and they couldn't get back in synch even though they kept trying - but Björk just laughed it off and they all kept going. It wound up sounding amazing - even if it wasn't right!

The whole crowd sang along with Hyperballad - Björk stopped singing at one point and just pointed the mic out at the crowd and giggled.

Also, I've never seen a Toronto crowd be so boisterous - crowds in T.O. are usually very reserved, so it was great to see them let loose!

(Will upload pictures tomorrow) The show was simply delicious. 'Hunter' is one of her best tracks as always. It was a treat to hear 'Cover Me' on the set. Too bad Antony wasn't around to do Dull Flame of Desire, that would have made a perfect show. The gold dress looks like an As Four number super-sized. Her voice was just unreal and she definitely made a showcase of it during 'Oceania'. Can't wait to see her again next time.
