3RD TIME this year seeing Bjork! Saw her at Coachella - AMAZING! Saw her in San Francisco - BREATHTAKING! And finally saw her again at ACL - WONDERFUL! I can not express enough how much i love and adore Bjork! My mission was to get in the first row this time and it happened. As my friend and I pushed our way to the front and then stood there piled in like sardines for over an hour waiting for her appearance, it was so worth the hot, sweaty, stinky experience! It was totally amazing to see her so close and I could see every detail of her face - it was surreal!! I get goose bumps just thinking about it! My favorite song she performed was "The pleasure is all mine". It made me cry! I don't know if I will see her again this year, so I guess the 3rd time is the charm and I got my wish to see her so close up! Thank you Bjork for a wonderful, wonderful experience!!!! I LOVE YOU!! /schaves55 - 3350
It was a magical event once Bjork came on stage with her crew. The beats & horns kicked butt with Bjork's powerful voice. I shook my bootie off so much that it all came to an end so fast. I was thrilled she came to A town!!~ She kept me with adrenaline the entire evening and I wanted more! Cant say enough, they rocked!! /pluto69 - 3346
the best show of my life!! ever!! it was worth the tortorous heat. first time for me to see bjork live and it was everything i expected. she was just absolutely breath taking. it made me completely forget about the fire that broke out in the trees behind us as we sweated our asses off with thousands of other stinky sweaty bodies. thank god they put that out in time for your show!!! pretty wild her speaker caught on fire too!! just too damn hot in texas!! lol i felt pretty proud to have people taking pictures of my arm... i have a bjork sleeve... with 3 portraits of bjork and other gatherd imagery from her albums and videos: http://madeea.deviantart.com/art/bjork-addition-44283818 or you can see it at www.myspace.com/madeea it is probably safe to say i was one of the only ones at the concert with a bjork sleeve!! maybe even one of the only ones with a portrait permanantly on my body of bjork. i felt so proud. really. i absolutely love her and love art and everything she stands for. i have one space left on my arm.. i wouldve died if i couldve got her signature in that spot. i took a permanant marker just in case ...lol. if she had signed my arm i wouldve ran to my tattoo artist (stephen hibbs of suffer city tattoo in dallas tx) and had him tattoo that on me to complete my sleeve. i think i wouldve fainted right after she touchd my arm though. im so glad i got to see bjork and look forward to seeing her again.. but this time i'm going to chose somewhere that will have air conditioning. i love you bjork!!! thank you so much for an awsome show!! <3 kim /madeea - 3343
Over a full day later and I'm still bopping along on giddy energy, thrilled that I got to see Björk in my own town. Between the heads of people a bit taller than me, I saw glimpses of fantastic energy from Ms. B. and her team. It was all so much absolute wonder, and I can't track back every little thing, but here are my most immediate thoughts on some the songs played last night.... 'Hidden Place': the brass was really warm on this. Usually I feel that 'Hidden Place' is happening outside of myself, to someone else (Björk and whomever she's singing to), but the brass made me feel like I was embraced within this personal sphere. It was delightfully beautiful! '5 years': Again, the brass girls really bring something beautiful to the older songs. I can't describe it too well, but it seemed to make the song less pissed at whoever the subject was, and more like a benevolent dare. I thought it uplifting and hopeful! 'Oceania': Her super long held note 'Ha-aAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHhh' was absolutely miraculous! On 'Army of Me', 'I Miss You', and 'Hyperballad', the techno beats seemed a lot more scaled down than the previous concerts I'd seen earlier in the tour (Chicago and Red Rocks). It seemed to serve a more gentler purpose for Hyperballad, which had a more gentle ascendance to the breakthrough of the thumpin' beats, but I missed them, especially for 'Army of Me'. But, that's just my taste (quietness, then WHOLLOP!), and still I enjoyed it all the same. ;) I appreciate that the pyrotechnics were left out of the show - Austin was hot enough already; the crowd was a soft, mouldering, (but excited!) steam bath. And the little "V" (for Volta!) speaker fire was just one of those things that make an evening like this an even spicier memory, like something magical and eerie manifesting in the energy of the music... ahhh! Thank you SO MUCH for coming to Austin, Björk & Co.! Austin Music Hall is getting renovated (and will have A/C), so COME BACK SOON! :D happy huggles! /tonatzin - 3340
Björk, You never cease to amaze ANYONE. Your concert was and is a life changing experience. The surreal transitions, vivid creativity, you're going to prove the impossible really EXISTS! And you already have. All the emotions were there. Your speakers even caught on fire! I just wish I could meet you. Maybe one day we'll work together. That would be amazing! Thanks for saying GRACIAS! That was just icing on the cake because Texas is FULL of Mexicans. :-D Hope to see you soon! <3 Duck PS: Quack! /duckpowered - 3339
So, stunningly beautiful... I can now die happy. This is my first time seeing Bjork live. Have been a fan since Homogenic. 10 years, almost to the day. So, yes, a fire on stage. It looked like the VOLTA logo in flames. Weird. Soooo happy I went to ACL. Humidity was worth it. Awesome. Yes. ::sigh:: Ahh. Awesome. /bgudmundsdottir - 3336
Incredible!!!!!!!!!! You know, I've found that saying "Björk is amazing" is just a way to sound really redundant. She never disappoints. From what it sounded like, Hyper-Ballad is Austin's favorite of her songs...? I am definitely glad I went, and I really appreciate her coming to Austin. Thanks, B!!!!!!!!!!! /marahbear - 3335
