dearest Bjork, my mind moves melodically as i try to pin point your energy, power, creativity. i sit there with you feeling the surges of beauty and feminity until i want to leap into the sky and fly. it is so obvious of what we have been put here to do. all of us who feel the voices of nature sing in our hearts, and who feel the light's energy swell the beauty inside and it says, you are part of the universe and the light in which you vibrate is unconditional and you can be so dam beautiful.....................and so, you really are. thank you! thank you! thank you! /bloveinsf - 2913
I GO SPEECHLESS, This concert was Beautiful & I had the most Amazing seats Dead Center Row 10. I only wish she played longer, but when you see BJORK live and see how much she puts into her performances you can understand. I have seen her several times and it still Blows Me Away when you hear how Incredible her voice is without the help of studio magic. Anyway this show will ultimatly go down as one of the best shows I have ever seen of my All-Time Favorite Artist. THANK YOU BJORK!!! /jasonw3112003 - 2912
Such a magical evening, definetly an amazing show. First let me state that I am from Mexico, and this is the only chance I could have gotten close to Bjork. I think everything on this show went amazingly well, I remember listening to Arvo Part on the background music while we were waiting for Joanna Newsom. Joanna Newsom, oh my gosh, she made such a funny and entertaining show, the moon had a crecent next to Venus. She asked if we had seen the moon the night before when in had Earth's light on it. She said so did she. I remember the camera taking the moon mixing it with her image in a song that surprisingly enough talked about the moon. MAGICAL Then I waited for 45 minutes until my queen showed up. The lights went off and an electronic beat started to play, then the girls came on stage dancing around the and then they stood where they would perform. And then she came in, at first I couldn't notice her since I didn't know what side she would be coming, but when the flames went on fire, I saw her, I couldn't believe it, I was actually seeing her on person. She had this weird yarn thing covered with a blue cape, which she sang "Earth Intruders" Magnificent! Everybody got up and felt the beat running thru their veins. The Aeroplane, I could distinguish it when it started, I thoght it was Crying. But then the brass when on , and it was magical. I remember when she said "Only one CAN MAKE ME COMPLETE" Unravel was amazing as well, she started singing gibberish and the the synthetizer went on. Dull Flame, was a melow piece, even without Antony, she could pull that piece out very well. Of course a little bit shorter. All is full of love was amazing, with the new arrangements it created an amazing piece. Then some bizarre cords when on with some kind of harpsicord. It was Pleasue Is All Mine, it sounded very different from the Medulla version, I liked it better I admit. Instead of Tagag they used the companion she had, amazing. THEN PAGAN POETRY. My favorite song, I started jumping when I heard the first notes. I think I was reborn again, she was singing with her charactesistic Groans. She started a little bit early, but it was just perfect because she added some new notes. I remember her singing "The wake me up from my deep sleep" and then "From, from my HIBERNATE" Amazing. Then everything when silent when she started singing the I love him part. I have no words. I see who you are. My favorite part was when she sung Let's Celebrate!! I Miss You, I couldn't believe it, I didn't know if she was joking or if she was actually gonna sing that song. She did, OMG. The trumpet by the other guy was amazing, she had so much energy, and started dancing like a little girl. She then played with Einar to some kind of catching-mime game. Everybody was dancing. Then the beat when really loud and then some "rapture like sound" And then Army OF ME. It was rough, it was raw. I could feel energy going all over my body. As the lasers went on and off, She sang it marvously. She ended it up with some Rock Star movements. Innocence, just like the CD. No more words. Wanderlust, I was expecting this song since I watched it on SNL. She made the hand movements, and near the ending she moved like crazy, you could just see her hair going right and left, she must have gotten dizzy. Mother Heroic. I had never listened to this song, it was very pretty. FIVE YEARS>HYPERBALLAD>PLUTO The best minutes of my life. Five years was so different, but I loved it. When she said "You can't handle love-- baBY" It was the cuttest thing I've ever seen. Hyperballad was awesome, you could see that everybody was singing next to her. Pluto, OMG, Pluto was like a thousand fist punching you but without feeling any pain. You could feel her energy as she was going back and forward and from one side to the other onstage. The encore was amazing, AMAZING. She introuced it as the song she sand in the olympics. OCEANIA. It had different arrangements, but everybody was listening to hear her say I AM WHY. DECLARE INDEPENDENCE Up to this point I had saved my mexican flag. The it started , the moment she said Raise Your Flag. I put it up as high as I could, beware of not covering anyone's view. But as High as I could. I was dancing with my flag Higher-Higher. I'm pretty sure she noticed me. "Thank you for tonight" Those were the last words she said, that is how I can measue my life now, before and after. As I was walking out of the venue , a girl gave me a HI-5 and told me That [The rising of the flag] was pretty cool. Other people came to me too. I also forgot to mention the detail that she said "Muchas Gracias" I take that as my own, I know is for the whole latin audience, but I will always claim that. MY LIFE HAS CHANGED NOW /Corteo - 2892

YES! YES! YES! Unbelievably incredible awsome show!!!! Definitely the best show of my life. I was so close at the right side of 101 row c. It really doesnt seem like she played 18 songs, it seemed so short. Unravel, the pleasure is all mine, all is full of love, those songs made me choke up and cry at their peaks. And when she would get close to my side i couldnt help but think if we made eye contact. That thought gave me chills hoping we did. GOD I LOVE BJORK!!!, i would try to see her every chance i get and never be bored. Thank you so much Bjork for gracing us with your presence and please come again really soon! p.s that electronic circular board is called a reactable which is not yet commercialized and i am sure it will not be availabe in the states. /athre - 2872
INSUPERABLE!!! My girlfriend and I had the best time at this show. It was our first (for Bjork), together, and we couldn't have dreamt it more dreamy. Listening to her voice live was rather striking to me because I realized something about her craft: there's so much emotion and personality bursting out of her at every moment that there's no way it could sound the same twice; you can't resist to fall into the cradle that she makes for each and every moment. The band behind her was of a premium nature. They worked flawlessly to keep the voltage going smoothly. I was really admiring the amount of "fullness" of their sound with so few members. I mean, I understand that they're working in the electronic music realm as well, but I was observing the drummer and he was creating such a beautiful atmospheric landscape with that little kit and the help of some bells and other toys. The hand-picked, purely female Icelandic choir/brass section were an integral piece of the sound, which really livened things up I think. I found myself feeling completely balanced between the electronic sounds and acoustic (natural) sounds of their gorgeous voices and instruments. I loved the warm brass textures in some of her older songs too. That was very tasteful and sweet of them. There was also someone utilizing an electronic circular board with little round shaped pucks that were designed with astrological signs and such. Does anyone know what that was??? It was tripping me out when the little pucks were turned they altered the sound waves and actually showed it in between the puck and the center of the board. I'm totally bewildered by this instrument so if anyone has info on it, please share. The setlist rocked! I don't agree with some of the other reviewers that said it was too this or that or that it didn't include their favorite song (huh?). I mean, why allow your expectations to mess with the real thing? I enjoyed the ups and downs like I would on a rollercoaster. It started on a bang with the playful march of Earth Intruders and then changed gears to explore her more intimate side with songs from older albums- which is perfectly OK with me- to gradually increasing the intensity until the very ending stomp of Declare Independence. I'm absolutely in awe of the fans around me that didn't dance or at least appear physically elated. I couldn't hold back from dancing, clapping my hands, joining in on a few choruses, and of course embracing my lover. By the end of Pluto, my body had just started to really get hot, which is one of the reasons why I was so ecstatic when she came back for an encore of two really super songs. By the end of Declare Independence, I still didn't feel like going anywhere; I could've been there for her all night, of course, but she's on tour, you know? Yeah, cooling off to the afterglow of her performance was something I can only compare to one other thing. Anyway, anyone with tickets to see her in the future are in for a real treat. Just be ready to have your panties twisted and your socks rocked off cuz she's all over the place! Bjork's admirers struck me as very diverse and enthusiastic. It was so magical sharing that experience with an audience so supportive and kind. Thank you. And, of course, thank you Bjork and the band for sharing so much talent and awesome energy. It's a night I hope to live forever with. CIAO! /letscelebratenow - 2871
Ok, didn't mean to take up more precious space as I had already submitted my review below. But I think I need to share something really important to you all that I left out and that is yes......I got really emotional and balled on my way driving home. For some reason, I just remembered myself sobbing, and I mean freakishly load, and said...."she played Aeroplane, of my fu**ing god she played Aeroplane....then I just remembered myself waking up in bed next morning, very sad the night is over. Is this insane or what, think I need therapy. Never felt like that before. Anyone experienced the same thing? Let me know! /homogenic97 - 2870
Definitely one of the best moments in my life. she was f**k*ng amazing. I loved when she sang Pluto. Hope to see here again. /Pili(= - 2869
obviously the show was of the utmost excitement. we all laughed cried danced... but it was SO GOOD to see bjork and einar on stage together. they obviously know how to do it right. the way they interacted can only come from the comfort level that they have with each other and with the stage. incredible. and... I MIGHT BE JONAS' BIGGEST FAN. i wish that there was a big pipe organ for him to play on as an opener. well, my sincere gratitude and i'll see you again tomorrow in bc and then again at sasquatch on the weekend. and a special thanks to bjork for always releasing constraints and portraying freedom that comes from generously giving. /roshnirobert - 2867
absolutely one of the most amazing nights of my life! this is the second time i've seen my icelandic queen and she never ceases to delight and satisfy! i cried my eyes out when she played unravel, which she opened my last concert in red rocks with and the result was the same (i love you forever clr!) and hyperballad leading into pluto made me dance so hard that i'm still sore today. the whole show was incredible as always! oh bjork, my beautiful little rainbow colored jellyfish that emerged into a golden butterfly... oh how i love you! i throught the whole evening, just as every other day of my life since you came into it, i am left to ponder... do you and can you understand the profound effect your music has on people, their souls, and their lives? from new york to san francisco for my icelandic goddess and my most cherish friend "i'm taking an aeroplane across the world to follow my heart!" allneonlike28 /chorse28 - 2866
| This concert was unbelieveable the effects of the lazers were outstanding this is her best tour yet. BJORK I was thinking to myself a while about this and I think you should do it. You are a big inspiration to me and I admire you so much. Just last year I moved up to Los Angeles to go to school at the Art Institue of LA. Your Artistic genius inspired me to chase my dreams in the fashion design major. This is my 1st whole year and I am doing great. But, anyway back to the real subject. | I flew from Mexico city to San Francisco just to see the show, I've been a huge fan since I was 17, now I’m 27 and I have to thank Bjork and all the staff for such an amazing performance it was a long time waiting to see her but it was worthed, I cried, laugh, scream... I will never forget it, you guys made me feel things I never taught I could. Thank you. And please tell Bjork to come to Mexico.. There are thousands looking forward to see her. /lmmxdf - 2851 |
above all, i'm grateful. and much love and respect to björk as an artist. having stated that, i didn't really feel like the show began until the ninth song. i was in the lawn, phooey. but reading other people’s reviews and how emotional it was for them made my eyes watery. it takes me back… i know what they’re talking about. i first saw b for the verpertine world tour (walked away with the violin music to "all is full of love," which matmos signed after the show. i sobbed like a little baby for overture and the aforementioned song – literally wept uncontrollably). then at coachella '02 (i couldn’t see anything, but it was an amazing show. i’m still very very bitter that i feel like i missed that show!!!). then paris, 17.06.03 (i just happen to be in paris, had no idea she was playing. scalped tickets in french [thanks ms. batigalli] and still had cannabis from amsterdam – great show!) then coachella '07 (amazing! got the entire hunter performance on video - yay!) and finally this weekend. what i’ve realized is that the slower more intimate songs don’t translate very well to a huge several-thousand-seat open place (especially when you’re far far away). or maybe it just didn’t reach me. i’ve seen “all is full of love” five times now and it just doesn’t feel the same) actually, no other show has ever made me cry like when b popped my cherry). but once i hear the beginning programming from “i miss you,” i jumped and screamed and never stopped dancing. army of me sounds great. innocence and wanderlust sound impeccable. 5 years was such a treat. and the hyper/pluto mix sound better when they’re mix into one song (as in coachella. or was i that out of it that i didn’t hear the break?!?). the oceania arrangement for the “brassets” us very beautiful. and of course, declare independence kills. i am very happy i went and look forward to ausitn city limits. -c. /xinjektilox - 2849
This was my second time seeing Bjork and it was absolutely fantastic! My sister and I saw her for the first time at Coachella and she took my breath away. When I found out she was going to perform in San Francisco, I just had to see her again! I bought tickets for myself and sister who are die hard fans, even though we live in Phoenix, AZ. Coachella was only a 3 1/2 hour drive away, but I didn't know how we were going to get to San Fran (11 hour drive), but we just could not miss out on this opportunity. We were in section 103 in row V. I booked the airlines, hotel, and car just to see her! Mind you, neither of us could really afford to go, but WHO CARES!! IT IS BJORK!!! All I can say is "IT WAS SO WORTH IT"!!!! Now that I don't have a penny to my name until pay day, I will survive off the sure pleasure of seeing my idol and living in the afterglow of her concert! It was a fantastic show and her singing gave me the chills. I cried during Unravel! It was so beautiful! And the energy was contagious. I looked over the crowd and you could just see everyone jumping up and down to the beat of the music. The laser show also gave the concert a cool effect!! I can't wait till she performs in the US again! I will fly to whatever city/state, no matter what the cost! I DON'T CARE!! Hey, you only live once!!! /schaves55 - 2848
My husband and I drove up from LA to see the show. This is our 4th time seeing the magnificent Icelandic Goddess and she was brillant as usual! We had excellent seats, section 102 row N. I was crying and laughing the entire time. I danced myself into a trance. When she did 5 Years, Hyperballad and Pluto I thought I was going explode. The show was more than amazing, her voice was so powerful and the band was phenomenal. I was happily surprised to hear the horn duet with Einar on I Miss You. She gave us a treat and sang a celestrial version of Mother Heroic, the first time I heard her perform this ballad live. She was so cute in her gold shorts and I couldn't stop smiling when she said muchas gracias. I can honestly say this was the best performance I have ever seen. After the show we snuck into the afterparty backstage and danced with Bjork and her band members. Everyone was dancing, drinking and stomping, I thought the wooden deck was going to break. I even caught B singing along to an Usher song. She is so unique and childlike yet strong and gifted. It was so amazing! I feel like I can never top this experience. We snapped some pics with her on my disposable camera and I am getting the pictures developed today. I just want to say sank yoo, as you so humbly say after each song. You have inspired so much in me and even as I write I feel your lyrics pouring through me. Lizzie and Antz, Highland Park, CA RAISE YOUR FLAG! HIGHER! HIGHER! /sunkissis - 2847
PUMPED. That's how i feel after watching the Shoreline show. Fuckin' Pumped. I love seeing how the energy kept building inside her song after song. Dull Flame of Desire, oh how she wailed. It was so powerful, especially how the song swells in intensity as it goes along. Hyperballad to Pluto--my god, how I've dreamed of thrashing to pounding beat of Pluto. I got to headbang with bjork and the brass girls. Declare Independence: PUMPED! More moving than a thousand political folk singers and revolutionary spoken word poets. !!! The only drawback was that it was a really short show. I know that Bjork keeps her sets short, but c'mon, with a brass band, she could have at least performed Anchor Song. She totally made up for it with Mother Heroic though. This song has been my number one for the past year. Literally. Look up my most played song on iTunes, Mother Heroic is it. It came as a total surprise when the notes began, and I screamed with complete delight. So beautiful!!! Jericho /3hrBnr - 2846
I got Moved to Second Row Seats…!!!! I don’t know how it happened my friend and I picked out our tickets at will call, and when we went to look for our seats we realized that they weren’t the ones we brought, originally we got them for section 201, and got upgraded to 2nd row… And at the time when the show started we were touching the stage… She was AMAZING I just wanted to climb up and hugg her… I saw bjork at Coachella from a great distance, and I never thought id see her from a 2ft distance..... KARMA finally kicked in…..!!!! Ohh.... I asked one of the Roadies for the set list, and got it….(thanks roadie!!) So ill share it with all of you… Earth Intruders Aeroplane Unravel Dull Flame Of Desire All Is Full of Love The Pleasure Is All Mine Pagan Poetry I See Who You Are I Miss You Army Of Me Innocence Wanderlust Mother Heroic Five Years Hyperballad Pluto (encore) Oceania Declare Independence Muchas Gracias a ti por una noche inolvidable!!!! jupiter79 /jupiter79 - 2845
Magnificent. Extravagant. Sublime. Euphonious. Exquisite. Satisfying. Altering. Transcendent. Beguiling. Sensuous. Inviting. Inimitable. Ultimate. PERFECT. Having been to well over 200 concerts in my life since the early 70's (giving away my age), and given my proclivity to unusual and unique shows and music, I MUST rate the two Bjork shows that I have seen (both in the Bay Area - SF in 2003) in the top 5 shows that I have EVER attended. Maybe even both in the top 3. Always one for the human experience first and foremost, Lady Bjork is utterly unique and ultimately fascinating and interesting. Her willingness to change her arrangements and song structures makes every concert a new experience, a thought provoking event. The reacTable is a new toy that fits in well with her ever-reaching art vision, a new and futuristic device that was played in a most excellent manner to execute her ever-expanding sonic vision. The backing horn section was a stroke of genius as well. My ONLY complaint about Bjork is that I don't see her as often as I would like. PS I first heard Bjork in the Sugarcubes in '89. I turned my wife Barbara onto her in '90 and now she is a bigger fan than me! She had QUITE A MARVELOUS TIME Saturday night. THANK YOU BJORK FOR A WONDERFUL TIME!!!! PLEASE COME BACK AGAIN SOON!!!!! PS WE LOVE YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim Smith - Fremont, Cali /zigfreud - 2844
holy crap, and happenstance. i had ordered my tickets months ago for presale, i wait and wait, and still no tickets. friday night, still no tickets... i finally get things all sorted out with ticketmaster and pick my stuff up from will call. after receiving my tickets from the window, i discover that my seats have moved from section 201 to 101... odd. maybe they fixed the problem and kind of comped me for the delay. so finally after 7 hours of driving, with only 3 hours of sleep the night before, my boyfriend and i walk through the gates, tickets in hand. we meet up with the ushers and they start walking us down the isle in section 101, and we keep going down, down down down down. until the second row. holy crap. how did this happen? anyway, i didnt want to question it. and more and more people came with the same looks on their faces... why am i here in the front? apparently this happens all the time. we didnt pay any extra money for any v.i.p. stuff, it just happened. so... einar's mention about the front row, there was just a handful of us in the 'red seats' that were there early to see what ghostdigital is all about, and he noticed. i think my boyfriend might leave me for joanna newsom (sp?) i had to drag him to the show, and i knew all it would take for him to understand my love for bjork was a live show. and now he truly gets it. again, i dont know how i managed, but i ended up dead center in front of the mic. what a wonderful night. im really happy she played a whole range of music from aeroplane, to two songs from medulla, and mother heroic... my god... that song brought me to tears. i just closed my eyes, felt the stage in my hands, swayed to the clavichord, and let the music seep in. i seriously had to wipe my eyes afterwards. what an incredible show, the brass band was amazing, especially for 5 Years. those girls are good!! and marc bell, what a wonderful job with wanderlust. everyone, well done, i just couldnt believe that night. 7 hours driving, 2 hours of sleep, and 2 feet away. i loved watching her hands, listening to her shoe stomp the stage. i'm just waiting to wake up. /onyxjinx - 2840
This was my first time watching Björk Live and it was absolutely amazing, everything was perfect, something out of this world. What can I say? Im a huge fan since 98. By the way Im from México... MEXICO LOVES YOU BJÖRKKKKK !!! Thanx for the lovely evening. Love u Luis Felipe /lujörk - 2839

This show was absolutely amazing. It was my first time seeing Björk live, and I must say, I hope every chance I see her live in the future will be as spectacular as this one was. We were in the 6th row, center, but they let us crowd the stage right before the show! Words can't describe how it was, being 4 feet away from one of the only true artists out there. The energy of the set was incredible, I loved every moment of it. It was just amazing, I loved the set, every song I wanted! I loved the opening with Earth Intruders and the energy from the crowd. It just kept flowing and flowing. Dull Flame of Desire solo was BRILLIANT, I never thought she'd do that song without Antony. Everyone was amazing, the brass band, electronics and percussion. The end of the night was incredible with the Hyperballad/Pluto morph and then DECLARE INDEPENDENCE! She got the whole crowd moving and jumping up and down, it was great. I am so glad I got to make it to the show, drove almost 7 hours just to get there, but it was SO worth it. Can't wait for the next tour! /brenden - 2837
The show was absolutely amazing! The entire band has gotten better together since Coachella. Joanna Newsom was ok (not really my taste) and Ghost Digital was very entertaining! I was hoping to hear Alarm Call...oh well, maybe on a future tour? I only wish I could see her again on this tour:( /caliguy - 2836
Oh boy, oh boy, what can I say. I can't think of a single word to describe last night at Shoreline but the closest I can get to it is that is was electric, beautiful, estatic, magical, heavenly, put all these emotions in a pill and eat it! I was at the Coachella and I thought I saw heaven, that was not untill last night. One of the greatest thing about a Bjork concert is that you never quite know which songs she'll perform and yesterday, she delivered just that. When she started playing what sounded like Aeroplane, I said no way, she had never performed that before and when the words came out "I cannot live peacefully without you" I screamed on the top of my lungs like a madman. Well, I sorta screamed through the whole concert so please forgive me for that but I swear I'm usually not like that in any other concerts I've been to, and I've been to quite a few. Even the last tool concert I was at I remained pretty quite, but it's something about a Bjork concert that I have to scream, sing and dance with her, I can't help it, so to the people around me, I apologize. Now back to the concert. The whole concert was freakishly, amazingly good so I don't know what is the highlight. But I think the highlight of the highlight was she playing I Miss You....man, I exploded. I was thinking of that video and tried to dance the way she did. And then she played Army of Me, so thunderous, so powerful, it blew me away. So many surprises, but the sweetest one by far was when she sang "Mother Heroic", I had to pinch myself to believe she was really singing it......it was sooooooooo beautiful. And then she played 5 Years.....one of my favorite songs of all time, that just sent me through the edge. Then the moment came, she played Hyperballad and I became really really sad, because I know it's the 2nd to the last song based on the past setlists. But then I was also very energized and excited because I know she'll play Pluto right after and boy that song never dissapoints. I was bobbing my head so hard I think I sprang it. Please Bjork, always include Pluto in your setlist. Then that song from the encore that is still sending electric down my spine....."Declare Independence".....I lost my voice screaming "don't let them do that to you".... This concert is so jammed pack with so many emotions, some soft, some strong, some healing, some angry....so dynamic is her artistry, I can't find one single modern artist close to her talent....and if someone knows of one, please let me know so I can explore their music as well. I'll see you again Bjork in Toronto even thought it may mean I'll have to sell my car to get a plane ticket over, and the only thing that would top this night's performance is if you included Alarm Call and Oxygen in the setlist. Only this time, I be waving my flag when you sing "Declare Independence" This experience is so so so so Fu**k**g amazing, its like a drug that I'm addicted to but is now on the down phase because the night is over. I think I'm having withdrawals now so please come back very very soon to SF or LA. Bjork, I think I can speak on behalf of all Bjork fans and said "We all love you so much"... P.S.....I so intended to see Joanna Newsom and Ghostigal but missed them...how were they? P.S.S.....People, please don't be too annoyed at other people singing/dancing @ a Bjork concert, they're just trying to have a good time. /homogenic97 - 2835
Incredible show! I was so moved- I felt like a gorgeous flow of sound came over me and I bathed in it. We were seated in Section 101, row I, seats 1 thru 8 and everyone around was having as much of a freak out as i was! During hyperballad I totally started to sing the chorus... "I go through all this..." but she delayed her delivery and everyone around me caught me! What an amazing setlist too with special treats she only played for us in the Bay Area so far on the tour (Aeroplane- amazing with the horns, a little like the D'Influence version... and Mother Heroic! My mom came to the concert and i totally dedicate that song to her.... I Miss You- nuts! Einar and Bjork were totally being their pranksters selves... I See Who You Are- so gorgeous live, way better than the album, except that Min Chao Fen (spelling?) was not there). Incredible openers too- Joanna was like a little horse pawing at the ground as she played and sang out the side of her mouth. I have been waiting to see her live. And Einar was HILARIOUS! Lots of people were acting too cool to laugh at his jokes, or maybe they just didn't get the sarcasm... I loved when he imitated President Bush and the Prime Minister of Iceland "Did they speak english? No! But that's no surprise, he never speaks english!" hahahahaha..... Incredible concert... I knew last night that "I'll wake up tomorrow, a little bit tired, but brand new", and I do feel re- energized and centered. Bjork's concerts are like a religious (oooh taboo word) experience... but I do feel like I connected with a larger force in a way that only Bjork's music can do. I love her! I'm so inspired! RAISE YOUR FLAG! HIGHER! HIGHER! KATIE, SEAGULL /stellar - 2834
What can I say? My second time seeing Bjork live which of course was incredibly mind-blowing as well! I loved "I Miss You", "Dull Flame of Desire" & "5 Years" (first time hearing these live, which they were amazing)!!!! Oh, & thank you for doing "Hyperballad" turned dance loop turned "Pluto" again for me. That never gets old!!! Thank you, Bjork, for another wonderful night!!! Being in your presence is always the ultimate experience!!!! Can't wait to do it again! & again! & again! & again! <33chaxx /chaxxattack - 2833
Wow! Awesome setlist, awesome sound, awesome energy, awesome show! Bjork is amazing!! The only bummer was the short set...but there wasn't a moment of boredom so it's all good :) /hushypushy - 2831
Loud, loud, ENERGY! I loved it. This was the biggest show I have ever been to in my life, not to mention my first show of yours. That being said, it was an odd experience switching from personal enjoyment of your music in my room or on headphones to a stadium with thousands of people and only one tiny Bjork I had trouble seeing. Considering the situation, I truly appreciated the LOUD energy songs. Army of Me, Hyberballad, 5 Years, Pluto, Declare Independence....they truly filled my whole body with this electric force. The lasers, I have to embarassingly admit, were an amazing addition. I felt like I was in outerspace, the first rock concert of a new generation! Truly amazing. Even though I wasn't accustomed to experiencing your music this way, after being a fan for seven years this is a truly refreshing experience! Here's to hoping I can find some quality video of this performance! Thank you so much, please come back to Northern California very soon! /swizzchard - 2830

this concert was freakin awesome.. youtube here i come soon! /kumaboris - 2826
Pretty comments ppl ^_^ i like jmmva's ideas about SF seperating from the Union  and i think maybe Bjork made the Volta cover intentionally UGLY to keep peeps who don't know what's up w/ her AWAY.. double lol... (those giant blue feet :yuck:) didn't seem to work so well though seeing as i was watching the show from a screen w/ my binoculars (not sure if that is funny or sad) but still it was a great time seeing bjork play again. this was my 7th time seeing her also, but the first time since the greatest hits tour, so it had been three or four yrs (time flys). she seemed less burned out on her material than she was on the last tour, really just GLOWING the whole time. and for some reason i expected to find her less appealing than previous shows b/c she's older, a mother, hasn't toured much lately, etc - but she seemed more radiant, beautiful, and humble than EVER!!!!! also it is really great that there was such a positive energy to the event, love, magic, passion, creativity - these are the things our world needs BAD right now, RAISE YOUR FLAG! (she must bee spying on me b/c that's how i dance ) my only wish is that the seating was arranged by how much you truly care about Bjork b/c i would be front row center every time - MOTHER GLORIOUS XOXO thx for sharing your private branch on the family tree of life w/ us - let me push you up against me tightly - i see who you are!!!!!! hermitstyle, styleYstyle, & /hog-gherkin - 2825
(little letter to Bjork) Thanks for last night! I loved the opening acts, and it was well worth the wait to hear you and all of those songs couldn't have been any better arranged or pulled off. kudos to you. I don't know how anyone could drink or smoke up at a concert of yours. it's so unnecessary. the music is enough to make you lose yourself already, so that was a bit weird to find people drinking or smoking pot, but whatever floats their boat, I guess. I am so pleased with your craft and ingenuinity and sincerity. Who knows what emails or reviews you'll have time to review, being a mother and a friend to the world already enough, ...but you can know that you make a HUGE difference to other artists and musicians who are waiting for the right moment to explode all of their goodness onto others. It's time "to be generous and give, share." Let me just say you are right, ...every American needs to hear Declare Independence too. We don't need to let the ones in power dominate what we do, or where we go, or force us into wars. ...I mean maybe you're preaching to the choir, because we're all liberals, but sometimes people need to be woken up out of their slumber, all these sleepwalkers who don't even know they're causing pain and misery in other countries, just by not speaking up against the establishment. I'm so glad you're there waving your flag higher and higher. Maybe San Francisco should break away from the union! ;) I'm so glad that there was money given to Unicef, too. What a better way to make a dent in the pain and misery of the world. Not only in song, but in practicality. I'm really really proud of your efforts, and I understand how precious it is that you dare to process all the confusion and beauty in this world. One person next to me in the concert contemplated what the cover of your album was all about. I said it must have been your daughter's idea. kind of like "mommy, wear the apple outfit" ...and the girl next to me said "I think it's global warming" ;D that was hilarious. Maybe it's both. That's what's so great. No one can ever figure you out, and they never should have to. Your music is such a gift. You really know how to arrange each song with whatever accompaniment and make it shine in a new light. It's a dream what you do, to bring out all of the good qualities, and make people fall in love with brass all of a sudden, ...or voice. America is listening to you. Be well and continue on with what you do. We all support you. Monica /jmmva - 2824
That's right! ...Aeroplane! that was so good to hear live for once, with the horns. ...I must say: the brass were awesome last night. and who was playing tablas? whoever it was hats off to you. I'm taking an aeroplane...across the world to FOLLOW MY HEART!!! magic magic magic! /jmmva - 2823
magic. energy. best two words for the evening. she was absolutely full of both. the amount of energy she poured into this concert truly inspired me in ways i did not imagine. a breathtaking soul, precious moments rendered in my life and the infinate human connection i felt at this event will be with me always. thank you for the beauty you added to my life and the lives of others; i am struck again and again by the magnitude of it all. mother heroic. surprised, happiness brings you close to tear and you see you have no other wish than to be exactly where you are, exactly now....thank you some more for all of that reaching--it truly finds a location and a feeling of endless appreciation. --Cara, Dallas, TX /lularobertson - 2822
Oh, I forgot to mention "the pleasure is all mine" ...and it really is! /jmmva - 2821
No one's mentioning the setlist, ...I guess because it'll get posted later. And this'll be a jumble because I forget the order, but: Dull flame of desire (with a horn instead of Antony, ...awesome even so). Unravel was a welcomed blessing, sort of sad, Mother Heroic with keyboard accompaniment, Pagan Poetry, All is Full of Love with beautiful horns accompanying the lines, I See Who You Are with keyboard imitating the kora and with more beats than on the album version, Oceania arranged so perfectly with humor in the horns and ascending bubbles of keyboard, Hyper Ballad got a little out of control and loud, with that laser table sound experiment thing, but even if it was chaotic, and unpredictable, it seemed like it was supposed to be like that, Army of Me with green lasers, 5 Years was another perfect arrangement with the horns and a total delight, I Miss You was a total joy & treasure thrown in there, Pluto & Declare Independence were great to stomp to, great crescendos of intensity, ...Oh boy, and so was Innocence, Earth Intruders, Wanderlust, live! Unforgettable. I think Earth Intruders was the first song of the set, and got everyone off their feet and got me marching in place, then it got sort of introverted towards the middle of the set, and then explosive towards the end. Best Bjork concert ever, ...of course I'm only comparing to the G.H. concert (where people couldn't see because they were being squished, and the Vespertine concert where you felt like you had to stay in your chair. One thing I didn't like was the whole V.I.P. sections @ Shoreline. Einar Orn said something great when the sound failed Ghost Digital, he said something like "yeah I've been told to leave my joke book behind." "yeah, go buy my album because it sounds better than in real life." "you're going to hear me for 10 more minutes and then Joanna Newsom, and then Bjork, and then you'll all go home to your couches." I loved that. and he said "all the people in the red chairs are going to buy my album before you, so don't let them. It's a limited offer, there are only 2 cds to sell out there." ...the red chairs were the ones in front, the sort of VIP who probably paid extra for their seats. ...it's a little bit claustrophobic exiting that place amidst all those people. Felt like zombies or something. God, I mean after you hear Bjork, at least I feel energized, I want to go run around a lake or bicycle all the way to the moon, or disco home instead of taking some car, or something, but that was such a huge venue... huge concert, ...and sort of remote. But at the end, then you have to deal with all these people in your face, like cows on their way to be slaughtered. too many people on planet earth. But once I got into the rental car, I opened the windows and blasted Earth Intruders to the hoards of people walking back to their parking spots. yeah, "forgive this tribe..." This one awesome extrovert dancer in the parking lot, and I kept thumping my breaks to the beat of Earth Intruders while I wait to be directed as a car in traffic out of that place. Hell finding our parking spot, we went to the wrong lot. Then traffic on 101 north where you go snail speed because of an accident, but none of it matters because the joy of the music and the high from shaking the negativity from the world off your shoulders. Bjork is truly contagious, intoxicating in the best of ways, and she's NEVER disappointed me. A true musician, magician, sorceress... I loved how she said hello to the crowd and called us "miss bay area" ...The beast is back, in the bay area now! ;) And she's one helluva tough mother ready to free the world with trumpets and flags and that inexhaustible voice. My one complaint is that it went by so fast. That there wasn't much of a break between songs, but I think it kind of had to be that way, for such a monumental feat to occur in one evening. It's all one big blur of love and joy and intensity. she totally has it in down, nailed to a T, and in her pocket and she's obviously ready to give it to everyone without hesitation. Perfect perfect perfect. Supercalifragilistic most awesomist spectacular genuine heartfelt romp I've ever been a part of! And let people sing along! Her words are healing and powerful. Let it spread like wildfire, and "enjoy every bit of it." YES YES YES greatest concert EVER! I think a lot of people were a little bit unsure why all the introverted songs, or something. Probably felt a little awkward for them to sit back down after Earth Intruders, so they just stood and stared through the first half, kind of awestruck, and maybe they wanted to see close-ups of her face or something on those big monitors, ...because they saw all the details of Ghost Digital and Joanna Newsom from up close on those screens, but all they got were closeups of Bjork's feet, or the keyboardists hands. But you know what? you don't come to "see" Bjork. You come to hear her. And let me just say I was dancing the whole time, and didn't miss a thing. /jmmva - 2820
Fantastic show, esoecially for hardcore Bjork fans. The focus was on intense, pulsating electronic balladry and Bjork's powerful, emotive voice. The material was primarily less accessible but superb songs from "Homogenic," "Vespertine," et al, interspersed with the excellent new "Volta" material, opening with a chugging "Earth Intruders." Lots of colorful characters in the audience and plenty of flava, too! Classic dance hitmaker Bjork didn't appear until the final few numbers, with a smoking "Army of Me" and the always undeniable "Hyperballad," my all-time favorite and evidently loved by many in attendance. The accompaniment and backing choir were flawless and the final encore of the incendiary "Declare Independence" sent us out into the chilled night with a roar. We needed the extra energy to deal with the Shoreline's horrific parking lot and its lack of a cohesive way out. One day they will have as many people guiding you out of the lot as they do showing you where to park. /aheyheynow - 2819
This is my seventh time seeing Bjork live. She is always a treat, but tonight, her setlist was filled with many unexpected pleasures. She played some old songs that I never thought I would hear ("I Miss U" and "Aeroplane"). She also played "Mother Heroic", which is one of my favorite b-sides from Vespertine. Her voice was in great shape and she seemed very focused, yet playful. She also managed to play my two favorite Bjork songs ever, "Pagan Poetry" and "Unravel". The only thing that would have made this night better is if she played "Who Is It" and "Mouth's Cradle". It's great seeing Bjork really spazz out and dance totally crazy. On the other tours, she seemed more reserved, but tonight she was very open and giving to the audience. During the "I love him..." part of "Pagan Poetry" someone in the front row grabbed her hand, and she didn't pull away. I thought it was kind of sweet. Thank you, thank you, thank you Bjork. I will always go out of my way to see you perform. /hen88 - 2818
This was the second show I saw on this tour. I saw the Chicago show only a week before. I was terribly happy to feel the new vibe of other songs, instead of the same setlist. (which wouldve been fine, because the Chicago show was phenomenal!) One thing that ruins a show for me, are the people who sing along to every song during a concert. No one paid to hear YOU sing. One day...I will hear Cocoon on tour! A splendid joy as always. I love the explosive energy at the end. /ryguy - 2817
VOLTAstatic experience!!!! Lots of good VOLTAge fun!!!! The best part of this unique concert was I SEE WHO YOU ARE and the VOlTAMix of HYPERBALLAD/FREAK. Needlesss to say: VOLTAultra!!!! I couldn't stop dancing and being electrified by the Bjork's vocals and the beats. All the other songs were great too, they were like new versions fresh out of the termoelectric plant. They did hit the core!!!! You still amaze me even after 14 years of following your career. Muchas gracias a ti (thanks to you) for making the the San Francisco Bay Area VOLTAspecial!!!!!!!! /joga1980 - 2816
This was my second Bjork experience. I saw during her Greatest Hits Tour about three years ago. This show was better with more energy and fun. I can't stop but smile when she dances. "Hyperballad", "Pluto", "Army Of Me", and a surprise guest Einar Örn Benediktsson of Ghostigital played with Bjork on "I Miss You". Her vocal was sharp tonight very impressive. I wanted more after "Declare Independence" but good things had to end. /jayar1977 - 2815
this was my first experience watching bjork live and i couldn't have asked for anything more. army of me, hyperballad, unravel and pluto were my favorites. i hope she comes back to the bay area soon. "i'm no f*ing buddhist, but this is enlightenment" /atrainofpearls - 2814
