no i thought they were all incredible . very pure , each in their own way . i was a little surprised though with the audience , i would have expected them to be more open minded and curious . not be too stuck on what type of music it is just listen to the emotion , the heart of it . but i have to say i have been spoiled in the past . i always have brought with me opening acts that were totally different than me but as strong if not stronger and 900% themselves . and the audience have always embraced the idea that they were seeing something that very likely they had not seen before . my earlier opening acts ( goldie ,
aphex twin , ultramarine , plaid , matmos and so on , most of them before many people knew them ) always mentioned to me surprised that the people that came to my shows seemed to listen completely and celebrate the fact that it sounded a little different and even though
their ears weren´t used to it or they didn´t like it they still found it curious ... they were amazed that there was no booing , but this time around there was and it embarrassed me . peaches ( who i think is incredible , one of the greatest performer to arrive for at least 10 years !!!! ) and will oldham ( a pure pure poet , a true original ) had humour for
it though and didn´t give up and usually by the last song they had won them over ... i guess i am just happy that music transcends over sport and such where teams have to walk away from games in a one-nil situation . in music it doesn´t have to be that narrow minded . you can watch 3 acts in a row and nobody won and nobody lost ...anyway , a bit of moaning there but i couldn´t keep this to myself ... actually , I would be curious to get feedback on this one , how do you feel about this ... ? |
